This hand written and illustrated compilation includes
approximately 700 of the more common names which have mottoes associated with
the island of Ireland.
As such, it is the largest single collection ever put together in one source
book and should prove useful as a reference document, either for personal curiosity
or for serious study.
The compiler, Tomas O'Baoill, has drawn from an eclectic range of sources
for his information and has synthesized them into a simple, easily read and
modestly produced publication.
It's for the punter and the professor alike, because everyone has a name and
more often a motto. Something to remember, muse upon or discuss knowingly over
a pint.
So with Lamh Laidir In Uactar (the strong hand uppermost) you might
reach up the book shelf with Fortitudine (fortitude) and purchase a copy,
keeping in mind that Maireann a Sgriobhtar (history cannot be denied)
and that you owe it to yourself to know your motto and use it as you please.
