There they stood on Joyce’s tower looking out over Scotsman’s Bay. The wind blowing in from Killiney Hill and the white caps in the Bay gave a pleasant feel to that June day back in 1904.
Buck Mulligan shaved, wiped his razor with Stephen Dedalus’ snot rag and looked out over the snot green, scrotum-tightening sea. The scene is set at the start of Ulysses. The tower is now the Joyce Museum, well worth a visit. ©
